Limedion in Mannheim, Germany was formed in 2003 as a spin-off from University of Heidelberg and Steinbeis transfer-center for surfaces and analysis. The founders are Prof. G.K. Wolf and former co-workers of his research group. For over 30 years the research group was working close together with all kind of industries and major companies like BMW, Mitsubishi International,OSRAM and many others.
Limedion tests and analyses all kinds of surfaces and coatings on their reliability, resilience, optical and electrical properties, etc. The development of new, corrosion protective coatings is only one example of Limedions research activities.
Limedion provides consulting, research, development and product improvement. We develop and build up prototype CVD, PCD and IBAD devices on customers specifications.
Limedion historically focuses on surface science. We produce, modify and analyse all kinds of surfaces and coatings. Other branches at Limedion are light technology, corrosion protection, polymer coatings, optical coatings and nano structuring. Aside of the most popular deposition techniques like CVD and PV, Limedion offers also very specialized methods like IBAD and PECVD for special tasks.
Limedion Mannheim runs a complete modern analytical laboratory with capability to perform all kind of modern analysis. The spacial closeness to the coating facilities enables us to react in very fast feed back loops with parameter adjustments and changes on analytical results. This possibility is very helpful for fast optimization of our coatings.
In our analytical lab we can offer the following methods:
AES, XPS, SAM, SEM, IR-NIR Spectroscopy, UV-VIS Spectroscopy, LSM, AAS, GC, MS, electrochemical analysis, mechanical constants, adhesion, hardness, (for detailed information please check our pages).
Other methods like XRD, XRF can be performed at an external partner lab.
In our branches surface technology and material testing, we offer you a certified quality management. We are certified by the TÜV-CERT-certification bureau and satisfy the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
